The second facility that opened is named Ye Olde Dandy’s, which opened in East Chinatown in downtown Toronto. I don’t know have much information, but there are definitely two interesting elements worthy of mentioning! The first is that you can apparently go solo. I asked because of how they listed their prices. The owner replied that you would be assigned an agent to assist you, but they would be forbidden from giving hints. I think of escaping rooms as a social activity, but I do find it amusing that you are assigned an NPC if need be. The very interesting second element is that instead of the boardgames / cafe business that many escape rooms have, Ye Olde Dandy’s has a ‘table flipping’ business. You can pay to comically flip a table over, like an exaggerated TV character. I assume it’s meant to be cathartic and a means to release pent up frustrations.

Improbable Escapes is an upcoming facility that will open in Kingston in July.

Escape Games is opening their 8th room, Syndicate: Relic Heist, soon. I have no definitive date to give, I was invited to test it last week. It definitely meets their usual self-imposed Escape Games high standards. Review to come soon.
The Syndicate, a powerful extra-legal organization, has failed to secure an relic of unknown origins. The task has therefore fallen on you; the Syndicate’s most elite unit. Steal it, leave no trace, failure is not an option.

I don’t believe that Captive has opened their Cabinet of Curiosities room yet, but they have now updated their site with a blurb of the story.
Xander and William McCreedy are the eccentric twin heirs to the largest shipping empire in all of Great Britain and are the toast of London high society. Their world renowned “Cabinet of Curiosities” contains a diverse and bizarre collection of artifacts and treasures from around the globe. You and your team of professional thieves have been hired by an anonymous source to steal one of the unique relics from the McCreedy’s cabinet. Who hired you ? What are you supposed to steal? You have many unanswered questions but this is too good an opportunity to pass up. The Cabinet however houses a deep, dark secret and and before the night is over,You will learn that noone can be trusted, even those closest to you. This is the ultimate in team building dynamics as each member will have to make a choice that will help determine the success or failure of the entire team.

Puzzled Pint is tomorrow! The location puzzle is up. Based on last month’s standings, a whopping 74 people attended.

Real Escape Game announced that if you book tickets for either Escape from the Time Travel Lab or Escape from the Mysterious Room before Thursday June 18, 2015 at 12:01AM, you’ll enter a draw to win free tickets to Escape from the Cursed Forest. The draw would occur on July 6th. Escape from the Cursed Forest has a puzzlehunt format very similar to Escape from the Bank, not to be confused with the escape rooms: Escape From the Time Travel Lab or Escape From the Mysterious Room.

Locked-In announced that if you book their newest room, The Race for the Antidote, with 6 or more people, you can have a photo with their giant minion mascot (of the Despicable Me variety)
