Omescape has opened their final room, The Penitentiary.
You suddenly wake up one day to find you locked in a cramped prison cell, cold and alone, silence everywhere. You soon realize that you are in the same cell infamous serial killer Richard Ramirez – AKA “The Night Stalker” –died in last year of natural causes. The cell has a history of mysteriously taking the lives of others, and if you don’t want to be next, you have to escape.

Their site shows the game at 60 minutes, so maybe the 75 minute hashtag was some sort of typo!

Captive stated on twitter that they have a new room coming called Cabinet of Curiosities.

Exodus London Escape Rooms have opened up a new room, The Nursery.
This is the story of Abigail. Her short life on earth was not always a happy one and all of her time was spent in only three rooms. Your visit to Abigail’s Nursery will be one of intrigue and keen focus to decipher the clues she has left you so that she may finally rest at peace. Otherwise, you may all be trapped there forever!

It’s that time of the month again, and Puzzled Pint is taking place on June the 9th. Secret location puzzle will be coming to you this Friday, June 5th.

In other non-escape room news, it seems the Betrayer’s Banquet is coming to Toronto in June to a secret undisclosed location.I had first heard about it at Shut Up & Sit Down’s review of the event in the UK. Its an interesting idea, where you have players repeatedly play an iteration of the classic Prisoner’s Dilemma. Except in this case, the better you play, the better your meal gets!
A banqueting table is set with 48 chairs at which players are seated at random. For a period of two hours, food is served in small portions every fifteen minutes. At the top end of the table, it is exquisite – victuals you could expect at the finest restaurants. At the bottom end, the food could be described as emotionally challenging.

Escape Key in Brantford are running a contest where the team with the highest score on the weekend before Canada Day (June 26th through 28th) will get $100 worth of fireworks!

Mystery Room announced a contest where players who successfully escape will receive tickets to Insidious Chapter 3. Details can be found HERE

Ongoing News

Escape Games finished their ‘contest’ and the Syndicate: Relic Heist facebook page has reached 250+ likes. This is dropping my chances of getting in, but the schedule for the premiere time slots is listed HERE!

  1. Cool to hear about the Betrayer’s Banquet. Noting the reservations in the UK about the cost and the associated inherent risk, what are they charging for it in Toronto, out of curiosity? (Not my cup of tea, but I’m glad it exists…)
