A puzzle hunt called DASH is coming to Toronto but it needs your help! DASH stands for Different Area Same Hunt. Like Puzzled Pint, it takes place at the same time across several cities. Other cities signed up for DASH are Austin, Boston, Chicago, Davis, Denver,
London (UK), Minneapolis, New York, Portland, San Francisco, South Bay Area, Seattle, St. Louis, and Washington, DC. Unlike Puzzled Pint or the upcoming REG Escape from the Bank, DASH follows a more standard format of puzzle hunts found in the states. Teams walk from location to location solving puzzles, and the event takes place over several hours. The event would not be free, but the ticket costs will go towards applicable location permits or insurance. DASH will take place on Saturday, May 30th, 2015.
So, as I said before, we need your help to make DASH happen. We need volunteers on the day of the event to help run and coordinate the puzzles. Volunteers will also have to assist with plotting out a route, and will also get the opportunity to playtest the game. There are still discussions as to how many volunteers we need, but the event won’t run unless we reach a comfortable minimum! If you have any interest at all, please email me at EscapistTO@gmail.com or contact the DASH staff on their facebook page HERE.

Added Claustrophobia (Ottawa) to the master list.
Added Lost City (London) to the master list.
Returned Roundabout back to the upcoming list. This puts Ontario at 49 facilities that are currently open, with at least 3 that are publicly on their way to opening.

Escape Games has two announcements. The first is that they have introduced a new “lite” mode for their hardest room, Counterops. The last 20% of the mission has been reworked to be easier. You can still play the original version if you’d like – just be sure to let the staff know which version you want to play.
Escape Games has also announced that they have closed their Le Voleur de Diamant room. I think they are replacing it with another premium mission named The Relic.

Escape Room Niagara Falls has announced that ‘The Attic’ and ‘The Castle’ are back up and running, while ‘The Bunker’ is still undergoing renovations.

Omescape has opened up their fourth room, The Mysterious Study.

Origin Room Break has opened up their newest room Casebook. It replaces their Wonder Child theme.

Most of those slots sold out within 24 hours, and Real Escape Game TO has announced a new weekend of slots from April 30th to May 3rd. The format is different from their existing two rooms. The event is a one-time puzzle hunt, where groups will essentially be simultaneously playing side-by-side. It will probably be much more pencil-and-paper than escape-the-room. The site lists ideal group size to be 6, and that you can sign up as a single person and that you will be grouped with others. More information is available HERE.
