Escape Games has opened their seventh room, ‘The Unknown’! It’s priced at $28 including tax instead of the usual $20 or $22, but the rest of the details are shrouded in mystery. You can find my review of it HERE.
Real Escape Game TO has announced that they are bringing Escape From the Bank to Toronto! The game will be held at the Black Box Theatre from Thursday April 23rd to Sunday April 26th. The format is different from their existing two rooms. The event is a one-time puzzle hunt, where groups will essentially be simultaneously playing side-by-side. It will probably be much more pencil-and-paper than escape-the-room. The site lists ideal group size to be 6, and that you can sign up as a single person and that you will be grouped with others. Tickets will be available on March 12th at 12:01 am. More information is available HERE.
Mission 45 has a new room named Nuclear Crisis. Mr. Lock smith has disappeared from their web site, so I’ll assume it’s a replacement.
Escape Key announced in their newsletter that they had some trouble with zoning that has resulted in the need to make a new washroom. They are closed in the meantime while renovations take place.
Locked-In Room Escape and Mystery Room both independently announced that they have some sort of partnership with eOne to give away movie swag to players. Information for the respective events at each facility can be found HERE and HERE
Scott Nicholson published his white paper showing the results of his survey of 175 escape facilities worldwide HERE. There’s some very interesting stuff in there. Apparently there is an escape facility somewhere that’s zoned/classified as a prison for insurance purposes.
Escape Maze in Peterborough should be finished renovations and will be reopened on March 28th.
Xspace has that they are replacing their ‘Plan X’ theme in April.
Escape Room Niagara Falls has announced that ‘The Bunker’ and ‘The Castle’ has no additional times, as they will be undergoing renovations for the next week (approximately until the end of February).
Omescape is running a contest where a group of players are given the opportunity to play the final two rooms, ‘The Penitentiary’, and the ‘Mysterious Study, before they are released to the public. Link HERE
I moved Lost Canada from upcoming to the master list and removed Roundabout from the page entirely. Updated REG Vol 2’s address. I changed the format of reviews slightly such that you see the facility information after you click ‘Continued reading ->’, so the site is less cluttered. I’ve taken down the Links page while I work on it.
