Trapped exclamation mark is part of the new wave of escape rooms! They’re located at a nice spot near Ryerson. Sansotei and Cha Time are nearby! Cha Time has no theming and zero puzzles, but their matcha red bean smoothie gets a solid recommendation from me.

Trapped! has briefing rooms. I’m not advocating every place to have dedicated briefing rooms, but I do appreciate that they didn’t try to turn the 7′ by 7′ room into an escape room. Bonus points for having an introduction video as well.

The shtick Claustrophobia uses isn’t super original, but Trapped! does take it to the next level (you’ll know what I mean once you’re in there).  The puzzles aren’t inherently that tough despite  the 5 stars (trap symbols?) of difficulty. However, I can see the game being harder for players who don’t adjust to the special design of the room. I’m actually curious to see if Claustrophobia has a wide range of solve times.

Overall, I’d recommend this room. I’ve been generally less impressed by 45 minute rooms, but this one will join the list with the Black room at Breakout. I like places that try to make something unique.

Fun fact! I don’t know if it’s intentional, but you can escape without some of your teammates. If you’re planning on breaking up with your significant other, go to the Claustrophobia room and strand them!
PS: Don’t actually do this
